We drove from Houma (Hometown) to the Morganza Spillway 5/17/11 arrived around 5:30 pm - drove the interstate 10 thru Baton Rouge and Point Allen - waters were cresting at levee's boarders - conditions and water was high in all areas~ We drove thur Pierre Part to Thibodaux then back home to Houma - most swamp land/Bayou's was high - Our friends are in the Morgan City, Thibodaux area - and our love is sent their ways - the path of this flooding is expected to run along their areas - My Husband called the State Police last night to see if we were in any evacuation alerts and none have been issued and seems to be none are expected to be - I went thur Katrina & Rita with 9 adults (FIL had cancer couldn't really travel with him at the last stages) we had 6 children, about 6 dogs, a couple of birds along with a HUGE fat belly pig that road the storms out in the garage - I was raised in Indiana but my home is in Houma Louisiana - my main love is the people here - they care about each other - they take care of one another when hit with Mother Nature - it will be our fisherman, our swamp people that are gonna be hit (once again) the hardest - My main concern is - Will they be able to recover this time?
